We travelled from Oakland airport to Gatwick, stayed in Surbiton (SW-London) for a night, to then travel up North East of England by train to stay in Chester-le Street where my aunt resides. When it was time to go back to California, we then had to make the trip back to London by train and stay in Surbiton to fly out of Gatwick a few days later.

Why Surbiton? We have family that live in Surbiton. A cousin, his lovely wife, and two adorable sons.

Before arriving to England, I searched relentlessly on Gumtree for a car seat. This one was only 10 GBP’s! It was available in the town my aunt lives in, so she went to collect it just before our arrival. It turned out to be perfect and just what we needed! Finding a car seat for me was imperative, because I didn’t want to travel with our own, especially when traveling to England from San Francisco alone with my little one.  The less things to carry makes for breezier travel experiences.
